The political request to ban dr Máriás's exhibition will be presented in the framework of a theatrical performance by actor-comedian Péter Janklovics and the painter. Péter Janklovics will play Attila Szarvas, the representative who objecting to the religious and moral message of the exhibition demanded its closure, while dr Máriás will give a speech in defense. Ádám Kovács pioneer will contribute by the zither.
The most serious, most colorful, most exciting and most entertaining painting-literary art album of drMáriás so far will also be presented here, the novelty of which is that alongside more than a hundred brand new paintings and fifty now widely popular iconic images, the artist has written short stories and stories disguised as educational stories as explanations, poems in his usual wise, critical, cheeky and laugh-out-loud style.
The painting-literary album is accompanied by a brand new CD entitled Hymns of the Hymnic Times, which the Tudósok will present at a grand concert at the end of the evening.
The album will be available separately at the venue for HUF 8,990 and the CD for HUF 2,500, as well as drMáriás' new paper prints and Tudósok's older, cult records.
Tudósok is a major representative of underground and progressive music on the Hungarian scene, who mix poetry, music and performance into a very special, typically East-Eurpean artistic language with a lot of humour and (self)irony.
During the last years they have performed from New York through London, Paris and Berlin to Roumania and Sicily, from festivals of contemporary music through avantgarde jazz-clubs to pubs.
Their long-time trio line-up has been enriched with a great new member, Ambrus Tövisházi on keys, who has been one of the most recognised composers and band-leaders on the Hungarian underground and pop scene.
