Spike And The Gimme Gimmes return to Budapest
Spike And The Gimme Gimmes are known for their high-energy punk rock covers, having reworked everything from Motown and country to Japanese pop over the past 30 years. Following last year’s concert, the band returns to Budapest this autumn, this time ready to make waves aboard the A38 Ship.
Spike And The Gimme Gimmes (formerly Me First And The Gimme Gimmes) features punk legends such as John Reis of Rocket from the Crypt, Joey Cape of Lagwagon, Pinch of The Damned, and CJ Ramone of the Ramones, with Spike Slawson completing the lineup. At live shows, guest musicians occasionally step in when duty calls, including artists like Jay Bentley of Bad Religion or Jake Kiley of Strung Out.
The punk cover supergroup has been active since 1995, releasing 12 albums and exploring nearly every genre along the way from Motown and country to show tunes and even Japanese-language pop songs. Made up of seasoned veterans, the band can turn virtually any track into a punk anthem, and their concerts are fast-paced and unforgettable. They already proved this to the audience at Dürer Kert last year, and after embracing the Hungarian party spirit, they’re returning once again to bring their wild world back to us. This time on November 29 at the A38 Ship.
Tickets go on sale on April 17 at 11 via www.livenation.hu and www.funcode.hu.
