A hard-hitting duo from Serbia—blending fuzz punk, noise rock, and blackened punk—teams up with a dizzying, minimalist, trance-inducing drummer from Sweden for an evening that promises a grand adventure.
Tvar' (RS)
Tvar' is a fuzz punk, noise rock, and blackened punk duo based in Belgrade, Serbia. The band's name means "creature" or "being" in Russian/Serbian.
Their music is characterized by raw, heavily distorted (heavy fuzz) bass lines, psychedelic post-punk elements, and a dark, blackened punk and doom metal atmosphere.
As a classic two-piece (duo) formation—consisting of drums and bass guitar/vocals—they create a massive sound reminiscent of a desert storm.
Although the members have an international background (having previously spent time in places like Tbilisi and Tashkent), they are currently active participants in the Serbian underground scene. They perform regularly in Belgrade (e.g., at KC Živa) and Novi Sad (CK13), and have played in various locations ranging from Turkey to Kazakhstan.
Among their best-known releases are the *Ding Dong* and *Tvar'* split records, which are available on the band's Bandcamp page.
Sheik Anorak
(minimal drumming trance, Göteborg SWE)
Sheik Anorak is Frank Garcia's solo project. Frank is a french musician, born in Lyon and relocated in Göteborg, Sweden since 2016.
The music of his solo project changed a lot through the years, following Frank's mood and phases, from free jazz to indie rock, kraut to no wave.
The past few years showed a new direction with Sheik Anorak leaving the guitar and loops behind, going more electronics.
The result today is a heavy repetitive music built on polyrhythms, drones and a personal way of playing drums.
Sometimes compared to Goat (japan), Nissenenmondai (japan) or even Steve Reich (us), Frank proceeds with his own take on repetitive electronic/acoustic music.
