On April 29th, the A38 Ship will once again be enveloped in dense, vibrant darkness: She Past Away will visit Budapest again. The duo already enchanted the A38 audience in September 2023, and now they return to draw us even deeper into their own hypnotic world.
She Past Away's music is made up of simplicity and melancholic atmosphere. The band has been shaping the contemporary face of dark wave and post punk for more than a decade: cold mechanical pulsation, razor-sharp guitars, timelessly dark melodies and minimalist, ominous lyrics in Turkish.
The band's concerts are considered a cult event worldwide. The evening will now be a return, a renewed journey and at the same time an intimate encounter with the beauty of darkness. The pulsating rhythms and the feeling of longing will connect everything and everyone as if the ship itself were drifting into the dark and mystical night.
Crow Black Dream
The darkwave duo from Székesfehérvár will open the evening on April 29th. They borrowed their name from the theme song (“Dream the Crow Black Dream”) of the cult film The Crow, whose dark, melancholic world is also defining for them musically. Their sound is inspired by the Hungarian darkwave scene around the regime change (Hold, F.O. System, Mirage), as well as iconic artists such as The Sisters of Mercy, Fields of the Nephilim or The Cure. Their music is atmospheric and melancholic, their introspective lyrics tell of passing away, separation from the material world and an apocalyptic vision.
