Geoff Tate promises the final piece of the trilogy and a special tour for 2026. The former Queensrÿche singer will perform the legendary album Operation: Mindcrime in its entirety on the A38 Ship on April 15.

Multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Geoff Tate is primarily known as the creative and defining engine of the American progressive metal band Queensrÿche: during his 30 years as leader, the band sold over 20 million albums worldwide and performed in more than fifty countries. Geoff Tate is still recognized and considered one of the most skilled vocalists in the genre: many contemporary performers cite him and his former band as a defining influence. The combination of sophisticated, socially conscious lyrics and high-energy, complex, and melodic music made Queensrÿche, led by Geoff Tate, internationally recognized as “the thinking man’s rock band.”

Released in 1988, Operation: Mindcrime became one of Queensrÿche’s most successful and critically acclaimed albums, featuring the hits Eyes of a Stranger and I Don’t Believe in Love. The album went platinum, and its follow-up, Empire, in 1990, went triple platinum.

When Tate and the band parted ways in 2012, a multi-year legal battle ensued, resulting in the singer being granted the right to perform Operation: Mindcrime and its 2006 follow-up live with Geoff Tate’s Operation Mindcrime.

Meanwhile, the new album is also approaching: Operation: Mindcrime III, which concludes the trilogy, is already fully completed, and its release is expected in the summer of 2026. It is a 10-song concept album that continues the story of the ’88 release, this time presenting the events primarily from the perspective of Dr. X. The producer is John Moyer (Disturbed), and the sound will reportedly be particularly heavy and aggressive, following the direction reminiscent of the early Queensrÿche style.

The current tour; Operation Mindcrime: The Final Chapter offers an unmissable experience: Geoff will sing one of the most iconic albums of progressive metal one last time, in its entirety, bringing to life the monumental story of revolution, betrayal and redemption.

The tour will arrive in Budapest on April 15: an Italian dark progressive metal band, Inner Vitriol, will also perform on the A38 Ship. The band, which started out as Vitriol and has been active for almost 20 years, has already gained international recognition with their first album, The Silence I Sink: the album ranked 8th on the Prog Metal Show's annual Top 50 list. Their musical world is defined by the dark, atmospheric elements of progressive metal.
