Formed at the end of 2020 in the grayness of the river banks from which the band takes its name, Deûle depicts our existential wandering in the constant strain of our urban lives.
The gray, foggy and threatening city is the backdrop for this wandering, embodied here by the city of Lille, from which Deûle draws its inspiration and imagery.
Deûle plays Synth Doom, a dark sound designed by strong Black Metal, Indus and Doom accents, with a sound shaped by weirdo synths and synthetic bass. The strident guitar and drums, create a sound overhung by a voice that ranges from fragility to heartbreak and madness.
A few suspended notes are enough for Bank Myna to open a breach. The Paris-based quartet weaves dark post-rock, cathartic doom and ritualistic slowcore into expansive, tension-filled sonic ceremonies.
Their music unfolds slowly, textured, immersive, and charged with a persistent emotional intensity. A spectral haunting voice moves through silence and noise like an invocation, guiding the listener across landscapes that teeter between fragility and collapse.
Active since 2013, their almost trance-like live performances feel less like concerts than shared rites: moments of stillness pierced by eruptions, drawing the audience in before overwhelming them with sheer sonic intensity.
For those drawn to the sacred strength of sound, to slow ascents and sudden ruptures, Bank Myna offers more than music: an experience that resonates as much in the body as in the air.
The event is supported by Liveurope.
