Deceits (US)
Co-founded by longtime best friends Kevin Moreno (Vocals, Instruments) & Francisco Saenz (Drums, Percussions) in late 2021 , Los Angeles’s DECEITS are putting the passion back in post-punk with a modern Chicano twist. The group have garnered a cult-like following in the goth/alternative underground through their catchy melancholic soundscapes and energetic live performances. Not afraid to stand out, DECEITS took it upon themselves to play post-punk that wasn’t restricted to just being cold and monotone, but also filled with the vibrant energy and colorful rhythms found in the Spanish language music they were surrounded with growing up.
After a steady release of well received singles, DECEITS released their debut studio album “If There’s No Heaven…” in November of 2023 independently. Powered by modern de facto post-punk goth anthems like “Drowning In An Empty Sea” and “Mi Amor, Mi Vampira”, the album would be well received, leading the band to tour across the U.S., headline their own show at the prestigious El Rey Theater and being invited to perform at 2025's Cruel World Festival.
After a string of sold out headline and support shows with acts such as She Wants Revenge to close out 2025, the band is scheduled to make their tour debuts in Europe and Mexico in early 2026.
Cawatana
With a long history, Budapest-based Cawatana began its activities in this form in 2018, purchasing and using analog synthesizers, drum machines, and sequencers, breaking with previous software solutions and switching to a purely hardware operation. Previously, they were very active on the international scene, performing a lot of concerts abroad, and making it to the best and biggest festivals (e.g., they played at the Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig twice, which is the world's largest "dark music festival"), but then they did not perform anywhere for several years, started performing again in 2020, and returned more actively in 2023. In their latest show (which was also recorded as a live session on A38 and was also seen on Hungarian Television last year), the elements of minimal synth/minimal wave characterized by analog synthesizers, darkwave based on hard drum machine beats, and postpunk based on powerful bass guitar form a perfect unity with coldwave vocoder vocals.
