Luud Schimmelpennick is the most colourful personality of the anyway very-very colourful political life of Amsterdam. Schimmelpennick, who is a local goverment representative at the moment too, is a devoted combatant for the city’s byciclist traffic, a designer and a vehicular expert. Thanks to the White Bycilce project connected to his name, we know Amsterdam as the city of bycicles by now. He was well ahead of his time when he started fighting for the city cycling in the sixties, concerning which he hasn’t given up any of his principles since.
