The Pontiac
The Pontiac band, which plays melodic rock music, has been an active part of Hungarian folk music since 2017. Their first material was written in English, and it was much more nourished by the blues traditions, in 2020 they switched to the Hungarian language, and this change also affected the music. Among the native-language songs, it would be nice to have a breakthrough, whether we look at its popularity on the video-sharing site or its inclusion in Petőfi radio's rotation. In addition to the festival performances, the band toured as support for Margaret Island and Blahalouisiana.
In October 2021, they released their second (and at the same time first Hungarian-language) LP, Come with us, anyone, and at the beginning of 2022, the band's frontman, Barnabás Nagy, was nominated for the Petőfi Music Award, in the male artist of the year category.
They took part in Yettel Stage's talent development program, in the framework of which their new song and music video Csak a czend van was released, which was also featured on Petőfi Rádió for several weeks and reached the 4th place on the domestic hit list. Also within the framework of the Yettel Stage project, they were able to perform at the Szabadság tér concert in companies such as Majka, Punnany Massif and Margaret Island.
Third Planet
The musical endeavors of Third Planet, which reached second place in DAL 2022, can best be classified in the genre of experimental pop-rock. Their music is both progressive and pop, traditional rock and modern synth elements - they operate with unexpected musical solutions, unusual tempo indicators, strong riffs, crazy and energetic stage presence. Their goal is to bring boldness to pop music and inspire others to do the same.
