In addition to instrumental pop music and jazz, many styles are combined in the program of the Barabás Lőrinc Quartet, founded in 2015, and both world and classical musical influences can be traced in the compositions. Their latest album has already been born with a new line-up, with familiar style cues such as regular, repetitive shapes, sheer simplicity and playing with a wide variety of styles, yet showing a new sound. The title track Open is all the more ambitious, with influences from rock, funk and classical jazz, members showcasing the best of their knowledge in solos and engaging in a vibrant dialogue with each other.

Barabás Lőrinc Quartet

Trumpet  player and producer, Barabs Lorinc, has been a mover and shaker of  the improvisational music scene in Budapest. Over the past decade his  club events and bands provided fertile ground for kindred spirits  experimenting at the crossroads of jazz and electronica. He gained wider  international recognition on events such as the Montreaux Jazz  Festival, iTunes Festival in London playing with Valerie June and also  shared stage with the likes of Thievery Corporation, Bonobo and Erik  Truffaz.

The  Barabs Lrinc Quartet has released two albums since its formation in  2015 (Beardance 2016, Other Than Unusual 2018). Their music is somewhere  between instrumental pop music and jazz with flavors from many other  genres. Barabss pieces show the influence of world music and classical  music.

Barabs Lrinc - trumpet, Csry Zoltn - keys, Herr Attila - bass, Mihalik bel - drums
