The A38 is a common point in Budapest: a venue for unforgettable concerts, summer evening conversations, and unusual cultural programs – for more than twenty years. An extraordinary urban location with a unique atmosphere, an unparalleled history of origin, and exciting stories. But why does a standing ship need a sailor, an anchor winch, and a lifeboat? Now we find out!
The thousand-ton barge known today as the A38 Ship, once transporting iron ore, arrived in Budapest on an adventurous journey, and since it docked at the foot of the Petőfi Bridge, it has been bringing a sea of experiences to the city year after year.
The A38 tour will also be an unmissable program, which will give you a real backstage impulse: we will walk through the zigzag ship spaces that are known and hidden from the public, see the original ship details, the concert hall designed with special acoustic solutions, the backstage made from the old engine room, the stern and the studios.
Meanwhile, we will tell you about the operation of the A38, its groundbreaking technical solutions, the sailors on board, the legendary performers and ourselves, who are the audience of the Ship. We will recall the start: the battles fought for the trust of the international music world, the chaotic opening and we will also talk about how the Ship became Hungary's first truly international live music club.
Finally, we will continue rocking in the A38 Bistro - on the waters of the Danube and in the sea of our own memories. As a final touch to the tour, all participants will be treated to delicious snacks alongside the unadulterated Budapest panorama.

Our walks always end at the A38 Bistro, where mini tastings await participants, the dishes of which can be ordered on site, at the table.
Those who participate in the extended walk with “lunch” can enjoy a full lunch menu instead of the tastings.
