Aranyakkord

Concert hall

It is a "Rock ’n’ Roll reservation," a conjuring of spirits; its sonic landscape is defined as much by a gritty, street-level romanticism as it is by ethereal, chiming textures.

The project "Kiss Tibi és az Aranyakkord" (Tibi Kiss and the Golden Chords) was brought to life by Tibi Kiss (of Quimby) and Gábor Vastag (of A Kutya Vacsorája) on a misty January day in 2018. Sitting side-by-side with guitars in hand, they realized, in that very moment, that a band had been formed. "Kiss Tibi és az Aranyakkord" serves as an experimental workshop—a "song incubator"—where they play freely with music and lyrics. It possesses a distinct, psychedelic-acoustic atmosphere.

The two close friends and colleagues have, in fact, been co-writing songs for film scores and various other projects for over a decade; Vastag has also served as a producer on several Quimby albums. The duo is joined by a permanent guest, Andor "UFO" Gábor, whose magical percussion work adds vibrant color to the performance.

Their concerts evoke an intimate, "living-room" atmosphere, allowing the audience to get closer to the very roots of the songs.

Beyond their own original material, their sets incorporate improvisations born in the moment, as well as selections from their broader body of work and covers of their personal favorites. Since its inception, the group has performed extensively in Hungary, while also touring across Europe and overseas.
