“The King is Dead” was formed in 2017 in Nyíregyháza, when he wrote his first single, “As Long as I Live”. The members at that time were Balázs Venyige (vocals-guitar), Bence Mile (guitar) and Zoltán Kozma (drummer). Their first concert was given before “Alvin and the Chipmunks” at the end of the year in the band’s hometown. In the next two years, they also had the opportunity to give a concert in Budapest, Eger, Debrecen, Keszthely and Kisvárda within the framework of LeszFeszt, and to release two new songs entitled “Come Closer” and “The Proud”. The band closed the year with a concert in Nyíregyháza.

In 2020, the band began work on their second single. In the fall of this year, the band released their first video clip for the song “Thought Left Orphaned”. The title of their second single also bears that name, which became available shortly after the clip debuted.

In the spring of 2021, the band recorded a short, live, studio recording of the concert-free period.

In the second half of the year, the band had the opportunity to give a concert on the 10th anniversary of Barba Negra, to perform in front of many renowned bands, to perform in front of Leander Kills and to perform in Nyíregyháza again after a long time.

In early 2022, the band began working on their second single and joined the band with Gábor Botos as a bass player.
