SOEN arrive on stage with elemental emotional power and musical precision, blending progressive metal and post-rock atmosphere with deep, melodic sensibility into a sound that is entirely their own. The Swedish band return this year with their latest album Reliance, ready to make waves at A38 Ship on August 27.
Since the release of their boundary-pushing debut Cognitive (2012), former Opeth drummer Martin Lopez and vocalist Joel Ekelöf have built SOEN into one of the most compelling acts in modern metal. The band has released seven studio albums to date, and their 2023 record Memorial was awarded Album of the Year by Metal Hammer
Germany, further confirming their place at the forefront of the genre. A SOEN live show is as heavy as it is haunting: technical, yet deeply human. The band released their newest full-length album, Reliance, this January, offering a refined continuation of their previous work.
