The grandmaster of refined, elegant downtempo Doug Appling - known by his stage name Emancipator - performed on A38 Ship with his live set in 2016. Later he returned with his band, Emancipator Ensemble and received huge success. The line goes on with a concert of Ensemble again this Fall, presenting Appling's new album, Baralku. The record - inspired by the ancient 'dead' island - uses lots of field recordings and motives of jazz, world and folk music. This takes a listener to a special 'back to the roots' journey, with transcendent and ethereal vibes that the Budapest crowd can enjoy on A38 Ship this October.
