CHAT PILE
special guests: RAGANA
Oklahoma is covered in toxic waste left behind by lead and zinc mining, which locals simply call chat. The city's noise rock quartet takes its name from this, and their music, like these waste heaps, condenses the existential pain of the 21st century into a suffocating, grotesque form. Fear has replaced the American dream, and Chat Pile's music is a painful reminder of this change.
One of the most exciting sludge bands of the past few years, Chat Pile, will be performing in Budapest for the first time. Their debut album, God's Country, was included in the list of the best albums of 2022 by Rolling Stone and SPIN magazines, and their follow-up album, Cool World, in 2024, also attracted the attention of critics.
Washington state doom metal duo Ragana will also join Chat Pile. Their name means witch in Lithuanian, and their music is built on a suffocating atmosphere, made beautifully unsettling by relentless lyrics steeped in political tension.
