Barkóczi Noémi

Singer-songwriter Noémi Barkóczi burst onto the scene in the early 2010s, with her first full-length album (Nem vagyok itt, 2017) establishing a unique musical universe all her own. After a years-long break, her acoustic sound gave way to an electric guitar in her 2021 album, Dolgom volt, in which she daringly experimented with a more modern, abrasive sound. That album was nominated for a Fonogram award and was named one of the best of the year by numerous national publications. Since then, her band – featuring Kristóf Gulyás of Miüs and Márton Bognár of Kamikaze Scotsmen – has toured Hungarian clubs and festivals, and has proved itself equally at home in front of thousands at Budapest Park and in the basements of countryside venues. Noémi has appeared as a lyricist for the television program Dalfutár, contributed to a song by Vera Jónás and a tribute album to Kaláka, and her music has appeared in several Hungarian films. She is currently working on her third album, from which two songs (Szia fényfolt and Mintha értenék), have already been released. Stories, moments and changes of the last period inspirated some brand new tracks creating the band’s third album. This material was released March 2025.

Sad Hungarian songs and melodic café punk chansons - Californian daydreaming and drink disco. Anna and Gergő's formation, formed in 2020, guides us to the field of self-loathing and burnout, accompanied by special guitar and piano playing, sometimes synth curtains and crazy beats, which is made even more entertaining by folk melodies and humor.
