Julien-K began as a side project for electronic music created by Amir Derakh and Ryan Shuck from Orgy, with the later addition of Brandon Belsky and Elias Andra. In early 2010 Belsky left the band for creative differences and was replaced with producer and mixer Anthony “FU” Valcic. Aside from the band, Amir Derakh and Brandon Belsky perform DJ sets under the moniker of JK DJS. They contributed to the video game Sonic Heroes with a track for Team Dark, titled “This Machine.”
