Bassist György Szappanos, who died on June 5, 2021, is the “Szapi” of everyone, a teacher, mentor, role model of almost every outstanding individual in Hungarian bass guitar playing (Boom Boom, War, Full Playback, FSCO and a member of many other formations), family member leaving behind an army of mourning friends, music colleagues and disciples.
Her widow is an educator, her elderly mother is a retiree with vision and mobility problems, and in a hurry to help her friends have put together the money needed to hold a worthy farewell.
We are now inviting everyone to the memorial concert who is happy to contribute to supporting Sap’s abandoned widow and mother and would like to commemorate with us, the organizers of the concert all night, a great artist, friend, teacher without whom life is harder for all of us on the “learning planet”. ”.
From blues to jazz, funk to world music, the audience can hear a large-scale concert spanning Szapi's entire career. The songs of iconic bands (War, Boom Boom, or Full Playback) and Szapi's favorite songs are performed in the interpretation of formations composed for this occasion.
