Fenyvesi Márton Quartet

Marton Fenyvesi was born in 1986 in Pécs. He started playing the guitar at the age of six. His first masters were Zoltán Toth and Erika Sára. He learned classical guitar until the age of eighteen. During this period he learned popular styles by himself, as well.

He got his first experiences in jazz music during his high-school years, started attending private lessons on musical theory. After maturation he failed on the application to the Jazz Department of Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music. He continued his studies with jazz guitar in the Egressy Béni Musical School where his masters were Csaba Czirjak and József Barcza-Horváth. In 2006 he succefully got application to the Jazz Department of Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music where he's a sophomore student now, his masters are Gyula Babos and Sándor Horányi.

His musical partners are mostly from his own generation like Miklós Borbély, Bendegúz Varga, Norbert Farkas, János Ávéd, Sándor Molnár, Dávid Nádor. And sometimes he is invited by the greatest bands and artists of the Hungarian jazz-life, such as Balázs Elemér Group and Quartet, Fekete-Kovács Kornél Quintet, Szőke Nikoletta Trió, Szalóki Ági 'Lament' or János Nagy.

He formed his Trio in 2007 November for the Hungarian Jazz Association's Combo Competition. The Fenyvesi Marton Trio got the first prize and Marton Fenyvesi won the Best Composition Prize with his song, 'Shifting Mirrors'. The members of his group are Balázs Horváth and Bendegúz Varga.
