EZ Basic
Budapest-based EZ Basic was formed during the early 2000's by Árpád Szarvas and Dénes Pesztalics. Being an experimental bedroom-project in the early days of its existence, the duo soon set its goal to fuse the characteristics of several genres like indie-pop, new wave and electronica, influenced by acts like Jesus & Mary Chain, Ride, Primal Scream, Lush, or Suicide. EZ Basic had its first notable appearance at Hungary's finest live music venue, A38 Boat, and became a trio by the joining of András Tóth on drums, which somewhat changed the whole sound of the project. The band has appeared at all the important local festivals and played abroad on multiple occasions (In Germany, Poland etc.) as well.
EZ Basic's first single 'EZ To Say' was the prequel to the Hungarian indie-success 'Hocus Focus', the band's first LP. They began recording their second album by the end of 2008 with George Shilling who has previously worked with acts like Blur, Primal Scream, The Fall etc. Adjusting the live sound to thus found on the new record (entitled 'Hello Heavy') the band joined up with keyboardist Áron Nagybaczoni to enrichen the band's live performance.
