Will Saul is the DJ, producer and A&R behind Simple Records.
His wide ranging influences from dub to techno, electro and breakbeat, combined with his natural flair for mixing have enabled him to develop a style of his own, fusing broken beats of all tempos into a fluid dancefloor groove.
He won Muzik's Bedroom Bedlam competition in '99 and has pushed his sound through a profound love of electronic music. There are five artists currently working on Simple; Sideshow (Fink on Ninja Tune), Walkner.Hintenaus (formerly Walkner.Mostl on G-Stone/ Sonoluce on EccoChamber), Precision Cuts, Will, and Rich Thair (Red Snapper on Warp/ Toob).
Will has commissioned remixes from Mathew Jonson, Infusion, Christian J, Evil Nine, Meat Katie and Fink, with Swayzak, John Tejada, Phonique, Infusion and Laurent Garnier confirmed for 2005.,,Will released his 4th single 'Digital Watch' on Simple in November, and in February '05 his first commercial mix CD. Simple One is a label compilation featuring the original Simple artists, and has been chosen as Compilation Of The Month in DJ Mag (jan 05).
Work on his album is taking in a variety of tempos and styles from downtempo and dub to glitchy house, electro and deep breaks. His first vocal single, a collaboration with US poet-vocalist Ursula Rucker, will be released in May on Ali B's Air Recordings. Will has also produced a single for the respected 10 Kilo imprint and a remix with Precision Cuts on Marine Parade.
He holds a monthly residency at Hum alongside Rennie Pilgrem (TCR) & Meat Katie (Lot 49) and Volume @ Audio in Brighton. Simple label nights have taken place at The End, Cargo and Flex/ Vienna, with a third label night at fabric in April 05.,,Will plays across the UK and Europe, recently performing dates in Japan. He has forthcoming gigs at Chibuku/ Liverpool, Breakspoll/ London, Dub Club/ Vienna and Agatha/ Rome, to name a few. His elegantly packaged DJ promo mixes are collected and shared by a diverse band of deep music lovers. He's aired mixes on Annie Nightingale's Radio 1 show, Kiss FM, FM4, Samurai FM, and a host of other networks.
