Sleep Party People is, even though the name might indicate something else, a solo project – conceived in the bedroom of creator Brian Batz on Nørrebro, Copenhagen.

With his piano, guitar, an old drum machine and effect machines, Batz escapes the worries of everyday life into a warm universe of escapism and dreams.

After many years of writing music in band constellations, Batz spontaneously created Sleep Party People – to find a space where his own emotions could be explored through music.

The result of his first efforts was in spring 2008 released on a new Myspace profile and shortly after Sleep Party People was appointed “Soundvenue Selected”, as well as record label Neh-Owh Records handpicked two tracks to be released on a LP-compilation.
Since then the project has received attention from Dutch The Subbacultha Magazine, British music blog anewbandaday.com and bandbase.com, where Sleep Party People was selected ”Band of the week”.

Tracy Maurice, artist and filmmaker, who has previously shot videos for Arcade Fire, Final Fantasy and Wolf Parade is at the moment finishing up a video for the song ”A Sweet Song About Love”.

The debut album "SLEEP PARTY PEOPLE" is done and will be released on the Danish record label, Speed Of Sound January/February 2010.
