New Idea Society

New Idea Society (US)

Somehow Disappearing, the most recent album by New Idea Society is the product of two years spent by Chris DeAngelis (Piano and Synthesizers), Alan Cage (Drums), Michael DiBenedetto (Bass) and Mike Law (Vocals, Guitar) writing and recording the feeling of the last second of a moment.
New Idea Society was originally founded with a simple enough concept; record songs that are sonically exciting. On their previous full lengths, the lo-fi experimentation of You Are Awake Or Asleep, and the mostly live in-studio performances of The World Is Bright And Lonely, were forays into different recording worlds. Then this years Quiet Prism EP with washing synths and melodies contained stronger hints of what was to come. However, with the writing and recording of Somehow Disappearing, NIS presents their first fully fleshed out complete album created as a band, with unique sonic recordings that match the song moods and performances that reflect the identities of the individual band members. New Idea Society will tour the U.S., Europe and Japan throughout the Spring 2011 and is excited to add new rhythm section Trevor Watson and Marshall Ryan.
