Martin Smith & Band koncert (UK)

Martin James Smith is an English vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter. Smith was the front man of the Christian rock and worship band Delirious?. Some of the most recognised songs by Delirious? include "I Could Sing of Your Love Forever", "History Maker", "My Glorious", "Did You Feel the Mountains Tremble?", "Shout To The North", "Deeper", "Majesty (Here I Am)", and "What a Friend I've Found". In 1995, Smith was involved in a near-fatal car accident, and during the weeks of his recovery, he decided to become a full-time musician. This inspired him to write the song "August 30" which appeared on the King of Fools album from Delirious?. Smith was one of the founding members of Delirious? along with Stewart Smith (no relation) and Tim Jupp, when they formed the band as The Cutting Edge. Smith is now a solo artist and his debut Album God's Great Dance Floor was released in the beginning of April 2013.

Before Delirious? went full-time, Smith was employed by ICC studios in Eastbourne as a sound engineer.

The band announced that they would be taking a break at the end of 2009 to focus on things close to them. Smith said that he wanted more time to spend with his family and devote more time to the CompassionArt project. The band later confirmed that they were breaking up permanently after a final concert in November 2009.

In 2012, Smith announced he would be releasing four new EPs throughout the next year with the fourth one coming out early 2013. He has released these EPs independently and each EP has new songs all written by Smith with some of the songs co written with other artists such as Chris Tomlin with the single "God's Great Dancefloor", which uses samples from Lionel Ritchie's Dancing on the ceiling EP in 1986.[citation needed] In 2013 he released his debut Album God's Great Dancefloor Step 01, with a collection of the songs of the previous released EP's.

CompassionArt is an art and International development charity headed by Smith and his wife.
