Keep of Kalessin formed in 1994 was greatly influenced by the American fantasy-author Le Guin to produce its violent metal music. Their style has the most in common with the Mayhem’s: their fast, brutal black metal close to the trash brought great popularity for the Keep of Kalessin, which survived a great transformation in 2000, but the bands founder, Obsidian C sticks consequently to the basic sound and world of the band.
