Kaltenecker Trio was formed in 1996. Since the beginning of 1997 the group has had the same members. Its unique sound quickly drew the attention of the audience. The Trio plays the compositions of Zsolt Kaltenecker. They are characterised by the harmonies of the end of this century, polymetrics, polyrhythm, many horizontal levels and dynamism. All of these appear in a strict system of understandable melodies and tonality. The composer has always put the stress to the possible most perfect expression of the moods not lacking the sense of humour. The compositions become really vivid when played by Kaltenecker Trio. The instrumentation of the themes and the exaggerated improvisations, which show a high level technical knowledge, always surprise the audience whose reactions together with the critics animate the three young musicians confirming the way they go. The sound of the Trio is determined by characteristic themes embedded in standard-like forms and the modern techniques of improvisation. The different experiences of the members of the Trio made it possible for them to study other styles of music which when appearing in this progressive music create a special atmosphere.

In addition to entertaining they aim to influence contemporary music and wish their talent and hard work to make them well known among the best jazz musicians of the world. These efforts are backed by their ever-growing audience.
