Jiří Stivin, the Czech flute-recorder-saxophone-reeds-multiinstrumentalist and great experimentalist is one of the greatest giants of Central-European contemporary music. Starting of with studies in film he dedicated himself to music in the middle of the seventies, and nothing represents more his all-round attitude, than the fact that he recorded both Telemann’s and Vivaldi’s flute concerts besides being regarded an excellent jazz improviser.

Regardless that he performs as a leader of his jazz quartet or in solo with only a recorder in his hands and backlined by a cassette recorder, his fresh humour, smart use of instruments and restless muicality always bring him outstanding success.
