Holy Motors (LT)
Astoundingly cinematic sound of HOLY MOTORS is a wormhole to a particularly marvellous parallel universe, in which Twin-Peaks-like bends intertwine with the drive of Western movies -- all with a touch of shoegaze-ish melancholy. The band’s love for cinema is explicit, hence their own name, borrowed from a creation of Leos Carax. All songs from their debut release are somewhat like dreams about cowboys and the romance of interplanetary journeys, conveyed by brisk walls of sound, gentle guitars, and melancholic vocals. HOLY MOTORS is among the most promising Estonian bands, having received a fair amount of attention at Tallinn Music Week 2016.
