It's hard to describe what Amoeba is, but it's easier to enjoy what they do. Cross-genre, self-effacing, tasteful, deep and light at the same time. The production has been in existence for 12 years and it is no exaggeration to say that it is one of the most exciting groups currently operating in the Hungarian live music scene. Their start was based on funk, soul, brokenbeat and hip-hop traditions, and with their second LP they aimed at the world of discos. Their eclectic sound is elusive, but all the more fun. Its members are experienced musicians who have written their names forever in the musical history of the Budapest night with their various projects. Their second LP received a Phonogram award in the category of best domestic contemporary entertainment music album. Their new EP, amoeba x tzapa, will be released this February.
