Liveurope press conference

This fall, a new pan-European music collaboration begins: Liveurope were established by thirteen European clubs, music venues and cultural institutions. The main objective of the cooperation is to help young bands and performers at the beginning of their international career via coordinated promotion, tour organization, online and television broadcasts. Without exaggeration, such a large-scale international collaboration between independent clubs and venues is unprecedented.

The Liveurope announcing press conference was broadcasted from Brussels on October 10, 2014, 13 pm CET.

Each of the thirteen venues are the among the most experienced representatives of their countries: there is one of the best European clubs Melkweg in Amsterdam, Circolo degli Artisti in Rome, Blå in Oslo, Palác Akropolis in Prague, London's Village Underground, and many others. Hungary is represented in the collaboration by A38 Ship Budapest. (At the press conference in Brussels, A38 Ship will be represented by Zsuzsanna Bende, senior promoter of the venue.) Liveurope has been initiated by Ancienne Belgique, a thirty-five-year-old music venue in Brussels.

The essence of the common platform of Liveurope is to help bands and performers, those have somewhat popularity in their home country, but are not able to break into the international music scene due to management and financial deficiency. The main objective is to make the European club and international concert life more dynamic through the promotional support of the performers.

The first round of the three-years cooperation is supported by a substantial financial contribution of the European Union "Creative Europe 2014-2020" programme.
